The Rings of Power | King Durin's Royal Forge


This is my 1st Semester Exam project on environment design for HBO's "The Rings of Power" series. Above is a video containing the process: from conceptualising and illustrating my Hero Asset (axe), to modelling, texturing, and rendering it in 3D. The whole process took me about two months. The end result is a four-second animated shot that transports you directly into the heart of a dwarven forge deep within the mountains.


Sadly I didn't have more time to animate close-up shots of any of the 3D models, and only have a select turnaround of my final Hero Asset - the dwarven King's royal weapon (axe) in the making on an anvil.
